Her recent visit to our headquarters in Asia left a lasting impression and we are so excited to celebrate Sarah this Mother’s Day!

“I was particularly struck by how impactful it is for women to feel confident in her abilities and take on a leadership role."

Q:

When you visited our HQ, what impacted you the most being in Asia?

A:

I was particularly struck by how impactful it is for women to feel confident in her abilities and take on a leadership role. When I heard survivor leaders tell their stories, their faces lit up as they described becoming a photographer, graphic designer, manager or accountant at Starfish Project. Their joy and confidence shone through, and I found this very relatable. I love that at Starfish Project, there is no glass ceiling; we want every woman to go all the way to the top of her ability!

Q:

What is your favorite thing about being a mom? Do you have a favorite memory with your kids you would like to share?

A:

I have two children, ages 21 and 18. I love learning to know who my children are in each stage of their life and development. We have many good memories of traveling around the states together and trying new foods. Even as toddlers, they loved strong flavors like goat cheese, kimchi and garlic, for example!

Q:

What is motherhood to you and how has it impacted you?

A:

Motherhood is a perfect example of how the most challenging things in life are also the most rewarding. The love I share with my children is the most precious thing in my life, and they are still teaching me what it means to listen and love well.
