Have you heard the exciting news? Two courageous women have escaped the brothels and are now experiencing freedom here at our Headquarters! For over two years, we’ve been building trust and relationships with each of these remarkable women. Our hearts soared when we received the call—not from one, but from both—asking if there was still a chance for them.
Their stories are like many of the women who have joined Starfish Project and the inspiration for our new Wear Hope, Give Hope Bracelet. This gorgeous hand-beaded bracelet is a shining example of the building blocks of hope. Many of the women and girls we meet have experienced abuse and neglect long before ending up in the brothels. By showing up, week after week, to offering a listening ear, we build trust that eventually allows us to extend an invitation to experience freedom.
What bravery it took Ping Fay and Mae Shan to hold onto hope that a life beyond exploitation was possible, even when the voices around them insisted otherwise.
